Tax man coming for beach leases after appeals court ruling

Escambia County's property appraiser and tax collector have prevailed again in what was the largest remaining residential lawsuit relating to charging property taxes on Santa Rosa Island.
Florida's 1st District Court of Appeal on Monday ruled in favor of Property Appraiser Chris Jones and Tax Collector Janet Holley, allowing them to continue charging property taxes to leaseholders who made up the appellants, known as 1108 Ariola LLC, on the beach.
