Florida Supreme Court Rejects Property Tax Appeal
May 27, 2010
The Lakeland Ledger

The state Supreme Court again has rejected a challenge to the Florida Constitution's Save Our Homes Amendment.

For a second time this week, the justices Wednesday refused to hear an appeal of lower court rulings upholding the constitutional provision limiting increases in annual property tax assessments to 3 percent for primary homeowners.

That let stand a 1st District Court of Appeal decision in a lawsuit by three out-of-state owners of second homes in the Florida Panhandle, who do not get the tax break.

The high court on Monday refused to hear a similar challenge.
