Home sales finally increasing, property appraiser says

 After years of flagging construction in Lake County, the tax rolls have received an unexpected boost from more than $154 million worth of new home and business activity last year, Property Appraiser Cary Baker said.

“New construction helped to balance out the roll for the county and most cities,” Baker said. “It basically offset home, business and land values that were still declining in some areas of the county during 2012.”
